VR Immersive Movie – Technical & Creative Spatial Sound Designer 

I was hired as a technical/creative audio designer on the FaceBook Immersive audio team working with the acclaimed Fable Studios . My ability to learn quickly and solve problems, and code/implement logic in Unreal 4 Blueprints and WWise gave the team a boost across creative and technical needs to complete the project.

I stepped into onboarded and integrated quickly into already existing team in the third and final chapter milestone of this project. I was able to quickly resolve long standing audio implementation bugs with new perspectives and supporting other technical sound designers with suggestions and bouncing ideas off one another.

Both developer and audio team won an Emmy Prime Time Award!

I primarily worked on Chapter 3 content with a team of really talented and amazing people! 

This was the first real project I had worked on out of my long stint as an audio director at Trion and I was fortunate to become a useful cog in this well oiled wheel!

The joy of working on this project with the new friends I was making was a dream come true. I have a technical background and have been itching to stretch it. Imagine coming onto a project where you need to learn new tools, VR knowledge and ideas that you had spent the past year cultivating, and creating new systems I’d never created before. It was overwhelmingly the best experience I have had in a very long time! 

I was responsible for:

  • Spatial Sound Design & Implementation on Various Scenes in Chapter 3 using Unreal & WWise

  • Technical implementation in Unreal 4 & Blue Print Scripting

  • Finding technical solutions to fixing pre-existing problems before joining the team

  • Prop physics audio design & implementation : Cup & Wall Interaction Fixes, Flashlight Physics (dropping, shaking)

  • Creature audio design

  • Techncial Foley system design to handle slow-mo

  • Primary scene work : Wolf Door attack, Wolf Solo booths, Wolf multi-room chase sequence, Pig Puppet Ending, cup listening interaction with wall in Chapter 2, Flashlight  physics object audio design
