This has been one of the most frustrating problems. Why are my iLoks not showing up under iLok license manager in Windows?
Typically the step to resolve this is:
- Uninstall PACE iLok manager using Add / Remove Programs
- Reboot
- While iLoks are plugged in – Go to Device Manager and Uninstall them – selecting Delete Driver as an option.
- Reboot
- Run the latest iLok manager installer.
- Reboot
- Pull some hair out..
So having done this over and over a few times and the iLoks still not showing up in iLok Manager – I decided to plug the iLoks into a Mac – they showed up instantly!!
I found that the iLoks were showing up under a branch in the device manager called libusbK
So some how the iloks think they are part of that and not a dongle.
I found this article which helped remove the software:
https://github.com/nefarius/ScpToolkit/wiki/Manual-driver-removal
After following this process and then unplugging and replugging the iLoks back in – they showed up under Dongles in the device manager.
Managed to regrow some hairs again..
Hopefully this will help anyone else with this issue keep hairs.
