ILok Key not showing up in iLok Manager – libusbK – PlayStation controller software!

This has been one of the most frustrating problems. Why are my iLoks not showing up under iLok license manager in Windows?

Typically the step to resolve this is:

  1. Uninstall PACE iLok manager using Add / Remove Programs
  2. Reboot
  3. While iLoks are plugged in – Go to Device Manager and Uninstall them – selecting Delete Driver as an option.
  4. Reboot
  5. Run the latest iLok manager installer.
  6. Reboot
  7. Pull some hair out..

So having done this over and over a few times and the iLoks still not showing up in iLok Manager – I decided to plug the iLoks into a Mac – they showed up instantly!!

I found that the iLoks were showing up under a branch in the device manager called libusbK

So some how the iloks think they are part of that and not a dongle.

I found this article which helped remove the software:

https://github.com/nefarius/ScpToolkit/wiki/Manual-driver-removal

After following this process and then unplugging and replugging the iLoks back in – they showed up under Dongles in the device manager.

Managed to regrow some hairs again..

Hopefully this will help anyone else with this issue keep hairs.
