I stumbled onto this sound by accident. Visiting the bathroom in an office building, I noticed a plinking sound – and decided to investigate.
At first I thought it was the sound of a tap dripping onto a metal bar, but was pleasantly surprised to see a flickering light causing the noise.
I whipped out my handy Sony PCM-D50 and began to capture it from various places. Luckily this was after hours and I got some nice clean sounds with no human contamination.
I decided to see what sound I could come up with using it.
